Dear School,

We need to have a little talk about our relationship. We've been seeing eachother on and off for a little over 10 years now. It's been a wonderful time filled with knowledge and life experiences, some of which I'll never forget.


I know, I know, you've been asking for a real commitment since day one. The truth is, I'm just not ready yet. And one of the main reasons is because, and I don't mean to be rude, but you simply tire me out. Especially lately, with all the tests you've been giving me. I just can't deal with this whole "Getting up at 6 a.m. to see you everyday" crap you always put me through.

Another point is, you're too clingy for me. I don't show up ONE day and you call my house looking for me. I feel like you don't trust me. It's not like I'm off carousing with other schools. You know you're the only school for me. I love your rough, brick exterior, and how contrastinly open and smooth you are on the inside.

You're a great guy and all, you're smart and kind, I really like you. But... I think we need to spend some time apart. Not for long, mind you. Just two or so months and then we can start over again. I think we both need some time to mature, and by the time August comes around I know we'll be able to take this relationship to the next level, but I'm afraid we'll never be much more than friends.

I'll give you two more weeks, but then we have to take a break. I have be truthful, I'm seeing someone... a woman. Her name is Summer and we've been friends since I was just a kid. She's really easy-going and carefree. She doesn't care if I stay up late and sleep until noon, or if I haven't showered in a few days.

Look, School, you've given me the best 10 years of my life, and in two more we'll have to part ways for good. But Summer always has and will be there for me.
